Zoo Med Repti Cooler
Congratulations on purchasing Zoo Med's new REPTI COOLER evaporative cooler! This product will help prevent overheating in your terrarium or Paludarium by directing airflow from outside your enclosure through a wet cartridge, cooling the air and directing it down through the exhaust vent. Please read and follow the instructions carefully before using your REPTI COOLER.
FEATURES:
• Directional discharge vent for precise air flow focus
• Memory function saves your fan-speed setting, perfect for using with a timer, humidistat, or thermostat, such as Zoo Med's Environmental Control Center (Item#
• Three speed fan to adjust air flow
RT-1000).
• 'Low' fan setting lasts approximately 54 hours, Medium' setting 36 hours, and 'High' setting
• Reduces the air temperature through increased evaporative cooling, great for any species that require a lower ambient air temperature than the room they are kept in, up to 18 hours before needing to refill water reservoir (based on 75°F ambient temperature).
• Built-in water reservoir holds approximately 16 oz (500 ml) of water,
IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE! To reduce the risk of fire, injury, or electric shock, read and follow these instructions prior to operating the REPTI COOLER. Save these instructions for future reference.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS:
Caution must be taken when using electrical appliances near water. To reduce the risk of electric shock, be sure that the REPTI COOLER is unplugged during any of the
following situations:
• Unplug when installing the fan on or over your terrarium or Paludarium.
• Unplug when adjusting the fan, or when cleaning the fan housing.
• Unplug before refilling the water reservoir.
• Unplug before moving or adjusting the REPTI COOLER.
When unplugging the REPTI COOLER, grasp the power supply plug to prevent damage to the power cord. Never pull on the power cord to
unplug the power supply,
DO NOT splice, repair, or modify the power cord or the power supply. Inspect the power cord and power supply periodically for damage.
For indoor use only.
Keep children and pets (other than your terrarium inhabitants) away from the REPTI COOLER.
DO NOT alter or modify this product. Contact an electrician if you are unsure about the electrical connection.
For replacement parts, visit Zoo Med's online store or contact customer service for assistance.
DRIP LOOP:
The REPTI COOLER must be plugged into a grounded GFCI (Ground Fault Interrupted Circuit) receptacle with a "drip loop" (see figure 1). The drip loop will prevent water from running along the power cord and getting the plug or wall receptacle wet.
To create a drip loop, be sure that a portion of the power cord is lower than the level of the wall receptacle as shown in figure 1. If you are unsure about the electrical supply and connection, contact a qualified licensed electrician. If for any reason the plug or wall receptacle gets wet, do not grasp or unplug the power cord until after the power has been switched off at the main fuse or circuit breaker.
