Description

Standard biofilter medium with large settlement area for bacterial cultures and high performance

SUBSTRATE can be built up in one or more layers. It is a highly porous sintered quartz filter material. The surface structure offers the important purification bacteria excellent colonization conditions. The adhesive surface is 450 m² per liter.
EHEIM SUBSTRATE is suitable for fresh and sea water, is washable and can be used several times.

Tip:
Never clean or replace all biological filter material in one operation (never too thoroughly). The bacterial cultures must not be completely destroyed, otherwise the resettlement will be delayed. For partial cleaning, the filter baskets in external filters and the filter modules in the internal filters aquaball and biopower are ideal.
